Loved Unconditionally
In her new book Dusk Night Dawn, Anne Lamott tells the story of a young girl whose grandfather was a pastor. The girl’s friends didn’t understand what this meant and asked what her granddaddy did. The girl answered, “He goes to church every Sunday and tells the people that they are beautiful, and God loves them just the way they are. But by Tuesday or Wednesday, the people forget, and he has to go back the next Sunday to tell them again.” What would my life look like if I really believed this? What about yours? The knowledge that we are loved totally and unconditionally seems more than we can really comprehend.

Today take five minutes to contemplate this complete love. Savor it.
